247. George BARNECUTT, son of Joseph BARNECUTT and Susanna MITCHELL, was born on 5 October 1893 in St Cleer, Liskeard, Cornwall, England.

George appeared in the census on 31 March 1901 aged 7 at this time he was a Scholar. He was living with his mother Susanna [43] and brother Joseph [12] a Scholar at Common Moor, St Cleer, Liskeard.

During the 1910 census of United States George aged 19 a Breaker in an Iron Mine was boarding with his brother in law William Brown [28] a Pump Man in an Iron Mine and sister Lucy [24] at 308 East Bonnil Street, Ironwood Ward 8, Gogebic, Michigan, USA. In the household with them was his half-brother in law John Langson [40], brother Joseph [21] a Miner and boarders Bart Hodge [20] and Charles Bassett [30].

George married Ethel May KEMP on 22 June 1922 in Ironwood. The witnesses to the marriage were Joseph Barnecott and Olive P Dobbs. The ceremony was conducted by George G Hicks Minister.

Ethel May KEMP, was born on 9 January 1897 the daughter of James Kemp and Elizabeth Ann Hill, the birth was registered in Redruth, Cornwall, England.

During the census on 1 April 1930 George aged 36 whose occupation was Miner and Ethel [33] were living at 64 Aurora Location, Ironwood, Gogebic, Michigan, USA. (Census Place: Ironwood, Gogebic, Michigan; Page: 8B; Enumeration District: 0019;)

Ethel May died on 4 December 1944 in Ironwood. She was buried in the Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood.

Ethel was the daughter of James and Elizabeth Ann Hill Kemp from Luckin, Cornwall, England and had a sixth grade education. She married George Barnecott on 22 June 1922 in Ironwood. Ethel had immigrated with her mother in 1912. She died at the age of 46.

George died on 29 March 1950 in Bessemer.
