142. Helen Mercy BARNECUT, daughter of William BARNICOTT and Helen MARTYN, was born in 1854 in Trevelmond.

Helen M appeared in the census on 7 April 1861 aged 7. At this time, she was a Scholar. She was living in Trevelmond with her parents William [42] a Tailor Journeyman and Ellen [45] and siblings Martin L [17] a Taylor Journeyman Emma L [12] a Scholar and William [10] also a Scholar.

Helen M appeared in the census on 2 April 1871 aged 17. She was still living in Trevelmond with her parents William [52] a Tailor and Helen [55] and her brother Martin L [27] a Tailor.

Helen Mercy married Joseph Luke MARTYN on 8 September 1879 in Parish of Liskeard in the County of Cornwall when he was 26 and she was 24. The marriage was witnessed by Emma Jane Rogers and Wm Barnecut. The ceremony was performed by Edward M Perry Officiating Minister.

Helen M appeared in the census on 3 April 1881 aged 26. She was living with her parents William [63] a Tailor and Helen [65] in Trevelmond, Liskeard. Also, in the household was her niece Bessie Rogers [9] a Scholar.

Joseph was pronounced Presumed Drowned when the ship Silver Stream was declared missing since the 23 September 1881.

Helen M appeared in the census on 5 April 1891 aged 26. She was living with her parents William [72] a Tailor and Helen [75] in Trevelmond, Liskeard. Also, in the household was her niece Bessie Rogers [19] a School Teacher.

During the census on 31 March 1901 Helen M [47] was living with her niece Bessie [29] and her husband Caleb Salt [29] a Grain Merchant in Trevelmond, Liskeard. (RG13/2192/99/21)

Helen Mercy died during 1935 in Liskeard.
