Samuel BARNECUT

158. Samuel BARNECUT, son of William BARNACOTT and Mary HICKS, was born on 5 February 1850 and was baptised on 3 March 1850 in Braddock, Liskeard, Cornwall, England.

Samuel appeared in the census on 30 March 1851 in Liskeard aged 1. He was living with his parents William [28] a Sawyer and Mary [26] and his brother John [4] and sister Mary A [3] in West Taphouse Hamlet, Broadoak, Liskeard, Cornwall, England.

Samuel appeared in the census on 14 January 1861 aged 10. He was living with his Parents William [34] and Mary [32] in the Second Concession of the Township of Hope in the County of Durham, Ontario, Canada. Also, in the household were his siblings John [13], Mary A [12], Malinda [8], Sarah G [6], William H [4], Charles [2] and Melissa [4 months].

Samuel appeared in the census on 2 April 1871 aged 21 his occupation was a Farm Laborer. He was living with his parents William [48] a Sawyer and Mary [46] in Township Hope, East Durham, Ontario, Canada. Also, in the household was his siblings Polly [21] a Milliner, Melinda [18] a Servant, Sarah [17], William [14], Charles [12], Charlotte [8] and Millicent [4].

Samuel married Anna Maria WARREN on 18 April 1877 in Colborn, Northumberland & Durham, Ontario when he was 26 and she was 24. The marriage was witnessed by Joseph Warren and Lucinda Reynolds.

Anna Maria WARREN, daughter of Robert WARREN and Sarah Ann DEE, was born on 28 January 1852 in Ontario.

Samuel was the Informant at the Registration of the Birth of son George Howard BARNECUT who was born on 17 February 1878. The Birth was Registered on 11 May 1878.

Samuel was the Informant at the Registration of the Birth of son Frederick Bruce BARNECUT who was born on 8 May 1879 in Durham. The Birth was Registered on 13 April.

During the census on 4 April 1881 Samuel aged 30 whose occupation was Laborer and Annie M [29] were living in Manvers, East Durham, Ontario, Canada. Living with them were their children George H [3] and Frederick [1]. (Roll: C_13241; Page: 12; Family No: 46)

Samuel was the Informant at the Registration of the Birth of daughter Lily Blanche BARNECUT who was born on 22 October 1881. The Birth was Registered on 12 December.

During the census on 6 April 1891 Samuel aged 40 who was a Laborer and Maria [39] were still living in Manvers. Living with them was their children Howard [13], Bruce [12], Loinial [10] and Beatrice [7]. (T-6332; Page: 32; Family No:156)

During the census on 31 March 1901 Samuel aged 50 who was now a Farm Laborer and Moriah A [49] were still living in Manvers. Living with them were children George [23], Lillia B [20], Beatrice L [16], Maud C [8] and Iva May [7]. (T-6464; Page: 3; Family No: 29)

Samuel died on 17 December 1904 in Manvers Township, Durham, Ontario, Canada. Cause of death was Cirrhosis of the Liver.

Maria appeared in the census on 1 June 1911 aged 59. She was still living in Manvers. Living with her were her children George [33] a Laborer, Beatrice [26] a Domestic and Maude [18]. (T-20369; Page: 4; Family No: 38)

Anna Maria died on 8 April 1915 in Manvers Township.  Cause of death was Cancer of Breast.
