Charles Alfred FRANKLIN

290. Charles Alfred FRANKLIN, son of Henry FRANKLIN and Louisa GROWDEN, was born on 24 September 1882 in St Lukes. Charles Alfred was baptised on 15 October 1882 in the Parish of St Luke in the County of Middlesex.  At the time of the baptism the family were living at 4a St Thomas Place and her father Henry was a Fishmonger. The ceremony was performed by FH Dalby Curate.

Charles appeared in the census on 5 April 1891 aged 8 at this time he was a Scholar occupation was. He was living with his parents Henry [46] a Fish Eel Seller and Louisa [49] at 98 Goswell Road, St Luke, Holborn, London & Middlesex, England. Living with them were his siblings Joseph [17] a Van Washer, James [19] a Body Belt Maker, Emma [14] a Lady’s Belt Maker and Lilly [6] a Scholar.

Charles enlisted in the Militia on 18 January 1899.

Charles appeared in the census on 31 March 1901 aged 18. His occupation was Orange Porter. He and his father Henry [53] an Orange Porter and sister Lily [16] a Pin Cushion Maker were in the household of Cornelius Murphy [52] a Tanner and his family at 32 The Grange, Bermondsey, St Olave Southwark, London & Surrey, England.

Charles appeared in the census on 2 April 1911 aged 30. His occupation at this time was Dock Labourer. He was living at 3 East-Lane, Bermondsey, London & Surrey, England with his father Henry [64] also a Dock Labourer.

Charles A died during 1952 in Bermondsey, London, aged 69 years.
