Alfred Gover

Was born in the 3rd quarter of 1884 in the Portsea district.

In the census on 5th April 1891 his occupation was given as SCHOLAR and he was living with his parents and brothers at 32 Jersey Road, Portsea.

On the 31st March 1901 Alfreds occupation was given as FRUITERER GREEN on own a/c at home, he was living with his parents and brother at 72 Langley Road, Portsmouth.

During the census of 1911 Alfred [26] a Fruiterer Greengrocer was living with his parents William [55] and Susannah [61] and brothers Albert [22] and Frederick [19] at 207 Powerscourt Road, Portsmouth.

Alfred married an Adelaide Barraclough during the 4th quarter of 1913 in the Portsmouth registration district.

Adelaide BARRACLOUGH - was born on 1st August 1887. No further information currently available.

On 29th September 1939 Alfred [55] a Market Gardener and Adelaide [52] Unpaid Domestic Duties were living with their daughter Adelaide a Poultry Keeper at Crede Farm Cottage, Chichester R.D. There was also 1 closed record, but as yet I have not been able to locate another child within the marriage. Also living in the household was an Amos C Stevens [24] a Salesman Market Garden.
