Emma Eliza Gover

Was born in the 2nd quarter of 1888 in the Portsea district. She was baptised at St Marks Church, North End, Portsea on April 18th 1888. At the time of the baptism the family were living at 2 Croft Road, Portsea, Hampshire, England.

In the 1891 census she is aged 3 and is living with her parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers at 2 Croft Road, Portsea.

On 31st March 1901 Emmas occupation is given as SCHOLAR and she is living in Seymour Street, Portsmouth.

Emma married a Richard Ernest BARNARD on 2nd September 1911 at St Marys Church, Portsea, Hampshire, England. The marriage was witnessed by Sarah Ellen Maguire and Alfred Gover. At the time of the marriage Richard Ernest was a Painter living at 3 South Road, his father Richard Thomas was a Stoker. Emma was living at 74 Seymour Street and her father Alfred was a Boilermaker.

Richard Ernest BARNARD - was born about 1879.

On September 29th 1939 Richard E  [Painter] and Emma Emma J [Unpaaid Domestic Duties] were living at v35 Balliol Road, Portsmouth C.B., Hampshire, England with their son Ernest J [Plumber Heavy Worker] and also a John S Crowe [Shipwright Heavy Worker] and Doris Crowe [Unpaid Domestic Duties].

It is possible that Emma Eliza died during the 3rd quarter of 1948 within the Portsmouth registration district.

Richard E died at the age of 79 years during 1955.
