A Family History

Harry Edward Samuel Allan

Was on September 1st 1896. He baptised in St Thomas of Canterbury the Parsh Church in the Parish of Portsmouth in the County of Portsmouth on 25th October 1896. At the time of the baptism the family were living in Warblington Street, Portsmouth and his father Harry was a Butcher.

During the census of 1901 Harry [4] was living with his parents Harry [36] a Butcher Shopkeeper and Kate [35] at 98 High Street, Portsmouth. With them at this time were his siblings Edith [6], Arthur [2] and Vera [0]  and his half brothers  Lyndhurst [18] a Carriers Clerk and Reginald [17] a Butchers Journeyman and a cousin Nellie Treleaven [17] Dressmaker (Domestic).

In the 1911 census  Harry [14] was living with his parents Harry [46] a Master Butcher and Kate [45] Assisting in The Business at 98 High Street, Portsmouth. Living with them were his sisters Edith [16] and Vera [10] and brother Durrell (Arthur?) [12]. Also there was half brother George Maxwell (Reginald?) [27] a Traveller and Nellie Treleaven [27]  Assistant Domestic Duties.
