Charles Edward married a Matilda Mary Maud MARSHALLSAY late STUKINGS during 1902.

Matilda Mary Maud MARSHALLSAY - was born on 28th April 1875 at 28 Great Southsea Street, Southsea, Portsmouth, Hampshire.

On 2nd April 1911 Matilda Mary Maud [34] was living with her children James Thomas [5], Thomas [2] and Lilian Maud [1] at 85 Barkworth Road, Rotherhithe New Road SE, Camberwell, London & Surrey. Also in the household was a boarder Charles James Hagemayer [22] a Saleman.

On 2nd April 1911 Charles Edward [33] a Sorter GPO in the Civil Service and son Arthur Frederick [4] were boarders in the household of Frank Long [49] his wife and brother in 95 Parham Road, Alverstoke, Gosport, Hampshire.

Matilda died aged 36 of Influenza 8 days, pneumonia + bronchitis 8 days, parturition 6 days. Certified by Francis Dugon MRCS on 12th February 1912 at 85 Barkworth Road, Camberwell. Matilda's Rank or Profession was given as Wife of Charles Edward Hook a Letter Sorter (G.P.O.) who was also the informant. The Registrar was a C Followes.

On 29th September 1939 Charles E - Civil Servant (Ministry of Labourer) was living with his son Arthur F - Representative (Milk Trade) - his wife Nora M - Unpaid Domestic Duties - and daughter Annette N - Under school age - at 7 Ashbourne Rise, Orpington U.D., Kent.
