Henry William

Was born during 1842 in Portsea. He was baptised at St Marys Church in the Parish of Portsea in the County of Southampton on 18th November 1842.

Henry married an Emma PASSELLS on 21st June 1867 at Saint Marys,Portsea.

Emma PASSELLS - was probably born during 1851.

During the census of 1871 Henry [26] and Emma [22] were living at Cross Street, Portsmouth with daughter Emma [3] and son Henry [1].

In the 1881 census Henry [33] a Captain of Steam Launch (Seaman) and Emma [31] were living at White Slip Ferrol Buildings, Alverstoke. With them at this time were their children Emma [13], Henry [11], Kate [6], Rose [4], Alfred [3] and Arthur [2], there was also an Eliza Tout [14] visiting.

From 1st January 1893 until 30th June Henry was Master of the vessel Blanche, at this time his address was 93 Queens Road, Gosport.

From the 1st July 1893 until 31st December Henry was Master of the vessel Blanche, at this time his address was 98 Avenue Road, Gosport.

From 1st January 1894 until 31st January 1874 Henry was Master of the vessel Blanche, at this time his address was 118 Avenue Road, Gosport.

During the 1901 census Henry [58] a Captain Steam Launch Comp and Emma [51] were living at 118 Avenue Road, Alverstoke. With them at this time were children Henry [31] an Engine Fitter Steam Launch Comp, Kate [26], James [16] a Boy in Royal Navy, Ethel [10] and Charles [8].

In the census of 1911 Henry [68] a Mariner and Emma were still living at 118 Avenue Road, Alverstoke. This time with them were children James [25] Seaman Royal Navy,  Florence (Jenkins) [24], Ethel [20], Charles [18] a Shipwright and grandchildren Horace [2] and Norman [1] Jenkins.
