Alexander Cevander Passells

Was born during the 1st quarter of 1891 in the Portsea Island registration district.

During the 1891 census Alexander [11 months] and his parents Alfred [32] a PUBLICAN and Ellen A [28] were living at 102 Millbank Street, Southampton with his siblings Lancelot [8] Nellie [6] and Archie [4]. Also living there was Kate Yeoman [27] listed as sister.

In the 1901 census Alexander C [10] and his parents Alfred [41] a CARPENTER and Ellen A [39] were living at 125 Milton Road, St Marys, Southampton with his siblings Lancelot A [18] an APPRENTICE CARPENTER, Nellie [16] an APPRENTICE MILLINER, Harry A [14] an OFFICE BOY/CLERK BUILDER, Stanley V [5] and Jack [1].

During the 1911 census Alexander [20] a Labourer (Docks)was living with his parents Alfred [52] a Carpenter and Joiner (Docks) and Ellen Amelia [49] and brothers Stanley [15] an Errand Boy (Butchers) and Jack [12] at 17 Radcliffe Road, Southampton.

Alexander Cevander of the 2nd Battalion, Hampshire Regiment died of wounds on 4th December 1917 in France and Flanders.
