Almyra Lukes Prynn

Was born on March 20th 1839 in Tywardreath, Cornwall, England. At the time of her birth her father John was a Miner who also registered the birth on March 22nd.

Almyra was baptised on 28th April 1839 in Tywardreath.

In the 1851 census Almira [12] is living with her parents and siblings in Wood Lane, Tywardreath, her occupation is given as COPPER MINE GIRL.

In the census of 1861 Almyra [22] is still living with her parents and siblings in Wood Lane, her occupation is given as WORK IN TIN MINE.

On 2nd April 1871 Almyra [33] a GENERAL SERVANT, DOMESTIC was in Fore Street, Tywardreath in the household of William Lacey [47] a BLOCKMAKER.

In the 1881 census Almyra [42] is living with her widowed father, brother George and daughter Mary E Williams in North Street, Tywardreath, her occupation is now given as LAUNDRESS.

Almyra married William WILLIAMS on October 7th 1882 at the Register Office in the District of St Austell in the County of Cornwall, England. At the time of the marriage Almyra was living in Tywardreath and her father John was a Miner. William was living in Lostwithiel. His Rank or Profession was given as Copper Miner and his late father James had also been a Miner. The marriage was witnessed by John James Rosevear and Caroline Varcoe. They were married by Thos. S Coom Registrar and Robt. G Lukes Superintendant Registrar.

In the census of 1891 Almyra [52] is living with her daughter Mary E Barnecutt [23], Marys son William [4] and daughter Myra C [1] in North Street. Visiting them at this time is Almyras brother George [33] a RETIRED MARINER , his wife Elizabeth A [31] and their daughter Mina [2].

In the 1901 census Almyra [62] is living in the household of her daughter Mary Ellen [33] and her husband Joseph Thomas Barnecutt [34] a GARDENER (DOMESTIC) . Almyras occupation is given as LAUNDRESS. Also in the household are her grandchildren William [13], Bessie [12], Myra C [11], George [11], Edith L [7], Thomas E [3] and Richard C [1].

Almyra died aged 65 years of Acute Pulmonary Congestion, Exhaustion. Certified by S. Davis M.R.C.S on 30th January 1905 in North Street, Tywardreath. Almyra's Rank or Profession was given as Widow of William Williams Miner Retired. Her Son-in-Law JT Barnecutt of North Street, Tywardreath was the informant and it appears that the Registrar was an Annie Rundell.
