Albert Edward VARCO

479. Albert Edward VARCO, son of Robert VARCO and Sarah Ann BARNECUT, was born on 2 June 1885 (date from Royal Navy Record) in Fowey. He was baptised on 18 July 1886 in Fowey, St Austell, Cornwall. At the time of the baptism the family were living in Market Street and her father Robert was a Watchmaker.

Albert E a Scholar appeared in the census on 5 April 1891 aged 6. He was living with his parents Robert [44] a Watchmaker and Sarah [40] in Market Street, Fowey. Living with them was his siblings Emmeline [10], Mabel [4] both Scholars and Adela [1].

Albert E a Watchmakers Apprentice appeared in the census on 31 March 1901 aged 14. She was living with her parents Robert [54] a Watchmaker-Shopkeeper and Sarah A [50] in Market Street, Fowey. Living with them were her siblings Emmeline a Dressmaker [20], Mabel [16] a Drapers Assistant and Adela [11].

Albert E married Nora ARTHUR during 1911 within the Redruth registration district.

Nora ARTHUR, was born 26 November 1891 (date from 1939 Register) in Clifton, Bristol, England.

During the census on 2 April 1911 Albert Edward aged 24 a Watchmaker and Mrs Varco [23] were in the household of her uncle Burnside Arthur [70] a Gentleman in Cadogan Terrace, Camborne, Cornwall, England. (RG14PN14007 RG78PN834 RD299 SD4 ED8 SN23)

Albert Edward enlisted in the Royal Navy on 27 February 1917 and served until 11 July 1919.
