During the 1940 Census of the United States Abel [79] and Mina [60] were living at Prospect Point, Walla Walla in the household of son in law Alpha Fulgham [37], daughter Hilda Fulgham [34] and grandchildren Richard [17], George [12], Shirley [8] and Robert [4]. Abel George died on 3 December 1941 aged 80 in Walla Walla, Walla Walla, Washington. He was buried at Mountain View Cemetery, Walla Walla.
